Year 3 Engineering Apprentice

Within the engineering apprenticeship it is very hands on and you are constantly learning. In the second year, you have 8/9 placements with the shift/ reliability engineers in each department. You will have full exposure of the components and plants of the whole factory visiting breakdowns, carrying out planned maintenance and preventative maintenance. With this in mind, for the rest of year you will be with the production learning how the plants and machinery as well as knowing how the components work. When you are on the engineering placements and there isn’t any maintenance or breakdowns, the engineers will give you some components to dismantle and put back together so you are constantly on your tools learning.
