At Mars everyone is encouraged to develop themselves holistically, that means developing functionally but also personally. While functionally I mostly develop while working on day-to-day tasks, personal development is more formalized, which means that I have my own development plan that I am following through. My plan is structured to facilitate the development and learning in three ways; learning by doing, learning from others, and by reading. I receive a lot of development support from my superior, but I was also assigned a mentor, who is a senior leader and helps me with my personal development. For example, this year I am working on how to become better at motivating others, which will help me to be a better leader in the future.
However, as Mars has strong feedback culture, I am also developing myself with the continuous feedback I receive from the colleagues I work with.
On top of that, within the MFLE program, I had the opportunity to attend seminars and workshops in Mars offices around Europe, and participate in external workshops, such as Communicating with Impact.
