This is a great question! To be honest, I applied for my first role shortly after completing my university education with very little knowledge beyond the role itself. I wish I had reached out before or during the application process out to find out more about the about the culture and company values to ensure that Mars was a good fit for me. This is really important as we all spend large chunk of our time at work. Luckily the culture and values exceeded my expectations, especially the focus on personal development and networking. I wish I had some insights before I applied so I could embrace it quicker. It took me a couple of years to realise that sharing my career goals would be supported and I could focus time on developmental activities to move closer to those goals.
