Not all multinational companies are equal! There are massive differences in culture, values, and motivation between companies - some of these are even more pronounced between private and publicly traded companies. Within Mars, we have the benefit of being a family owned company and the additional freedoms this provides to enable us to make decisions that are not just driven by the bottom line.
Multinational companies also offer great opportunities for career advancement. Working across markets, cultures, etc broadens the perspective and the experiences that will be gained. I have also learnt firsthand from development programs that will support placing associates in foreign countries as part of their career development.
